Compassionate, inclusive mental health care for all.

About

Thank you for being here and taking a chance on something new. Choosing to pursue therapy—seeking insight, awareness, and change—is an act of courage. It is a privilege to be trusted with your story, and a gift to witness you in your wholeness.

I strive to create a safe, affirming, and supportive space where therapy is a collaborative process and you are the expert in your own life. With curiosity, honesty, and vulnerability, I walk alongside you as you explore your experiences and move toward healing and growth.

I invite you to experiment with new ways of responding to your thoughts and emotions—ways that allow space for compassion rather than judgment. In our work together, I hope to help you identify the values that anchor you, observe when your thoughts and feelings are driving the bus to a place that’s not working for you, and help you pause, pivot, and try something new.

My approach is integrative, strengths-based, and person-centered. I draw primarily from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), while grounding my work in multicultural, feminist, queer, and existential perspectives. I have experience supporting individuals with concerns related to anxiety, depression, identity development, LGBTQIA+ experiences, women’s and parenting issues, trauma, and grief.

I truly love this work and feel incredibly lucky to witness people’s growth every day. Thank you for being willing to share your story with me as it continues to unfold.

Carly Habenschuss, LPCC-S

I grew up in Northeast Ohio, but I’ve called Columbus home for over 20 years. Before becoming a counselor, I served in a variety of community-focused roles—from hospitality to making and selling ice cream, AmeriCorps City Year, and WWOOF New Zealand. These experiences have given me a broad understanding of our diverse and intersectional humanity, which grounds my work every day.

Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy reading autobiographies and listening to podcasts. I also love thrifting, embroidery and sewing, camping, playing card and board games, drinking lots of tea, and trying new restaurants with my husband and friends. I’m a mom and my gaggle of children keep me busy and continually growing as a parent and as a human.

I began my clinical counseling work at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in their school-based program and later worked with students in Gahanna’s elementary, middle, and high schools. Before launching my own private practice, I provided therapy to adults, couples, and teens at Clintonville Counseling and Wellness, which primarily serves the LGBTQ+ community.

Fees & Insurance

As a member of Seasons Counseling Services and OhioHealth Group’s Clinically Integrated Network, the insurances I am contracted with are:

  • Aetna
  • Cigna
  • Medical Mutual
  • Ohio Healthy

If you have out-of-network benefits, you will be responsible for submitting superbills for insurance reimbursements. If you are interested in my self-pay rate, please contact me.

Insurance can be confusing and vary depending on each specific plan. Below are some questions that can guide your conversation with your insurance representative as you are trying to determine your benefits.

  • Is Carly Habenschuss (NPI #1194272591) in-network with my health insurance?
  • What is my in-network deductible for outpatient mental health visits?
  • How much of my deductible have I met?
  • How much will behavioral health sessions (90791 – intake appointment; 90837 – ongoing appointments) cost?
    • before I meet my deductible?
    • after I meet my deductible?
  • Do I have a copay or coinsurance?
    • How much is it?
  • What is the policy year (i.e. Jan 1 – Dec 31)?
  • Are my behavioral health benefits under a different plan than my medical benefits? (For example, State of Ohio employees mental health benefits are under the Optum/United Healthcare umbrella even though their insurance coverage is through Medical Mutual.)

FAQ

Q: How do I request an appointment?

A: Contact me to request a free 15-minute consultation call. During this brief introductory meeting, I will answer your questions, learn more about your needs, and if we agree that I am a good fit for you, we can schedule your first counseling appointment. My phone is silent during the day to avoid interruptions to counseling sessions – if you are interested in scheduling or have any questions, please email me – carly@wovenwellness.org.

Q: Do you offer in-person or telehealth sessions?

A: I see clients both in person and online or often a combination, depending on what is best for each client. I am also open to walk & talk therapy if getting out of the office could benefit your therapeutic work. As always, I am happy to accommodate your needs and your pace in order to create the most beneficial environment for therapy.

Q: When are you available for counseling sessions?

A: I am in the office Tuesdays from 9am-7:30pm, Thursdays from 9am-3pm and Fridays from 9am-3pm. I occasionally offer sessions on Mondays and Wednesdays or before 9am on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
